At the age of 48 Fred Funk wrote one of the feel good stories of last year when he captured the Players Championship. We had a chance to talk with Fred about his benchmark year in 2005 and what’s ahead for him in terms of golf. » In 2004, finished in the top 30 (No. 25) on the PGA TOUR money list for the third straight season and went over the $2-million mark for the third consecutive year.

» Golf coach at University of Maryland from 1982 through 1988. Also worked as newspaper circulation supervisor before joining TOUR.

» One of the first TOUR players to have LASIK surgery.

» Turned professional in 1981, joined the PGA TOUR in 1989.

» Currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
