February winners qualify for 2015 Hyundai Tournament of Champions
: Stadler, Watson, Day earn spot in winners-only event

Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii (February 28, 2014) – As the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season continues, more players stamp their ticket to Hawaii for the winners-only Hyundai Tournament of Champions. In February, Kevin Stadler, Bubba Waston and Jason Day each brought home a victory and a spot in the 2015 event. Fellow February winner, Jimmy Walker, had already qualified with his second victory of the season at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Kevin Stadler captured his first PGA TOUR win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open after narrowly escaping a playoff with Graham DeLaet and Bubba Waston. While Stadler briefly lost the lead early on Sunday, he was able to chip away at the deficit on the back nine and regain a share of the lead by the 17th. Stadler kept his composure on No. 18, making par and locking in the win. Kevin and his father Craig became the ninth father-son duo to win on the PGA TOUR and will be the first-ever father and son to play in the Masters in the same year. Kevin and Craig could also become just the fourth father and son pair to compete in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Jimmy Walker posted his third victory in just eight starts during the 2013-14 season at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Walker dwindled a six-shot lead on the back nine of the final round, giving himself just a one-shot cushion by the time he reached the 18th. But Walker held on, making a five-foot putt for par to avoid a playoff and instead, add his name to a short list of players that have also won three times in eight starts.

After a close call at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Bubba Watson found his rhythm at the Northern Trust Open and brought home his fifth career PGA TOUR victory. Watson fired off back-to-back bogey-free 64s en route to his first win since the 2012 Masters. This was Watson’s third top-10 finish in his last four starts this season.

In one of the most exciting matches in Accenture Match Play Championship history, Jason Day overcame France’s Victor Dubuisson in extra holes to notch his second career PGA TOUR victory. Day and Dubuisson battled it out over five playoff holes until Day was finally able to break away with a birdie and the win. Day became the youngest winner in Accenture Match Play Championship history and joined Geoff Ogilvy as the only Australians to win the event.
