West Oahu Welcomes Back World-Class Golf Stars for the 2013 LPGA Lotte Championship Presented by J Golf

Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii (April 11, 2013) - The world’s finest female golf professionals will return to West Oahu this month, April 14-20 for the LPGA LOTTE Championship presented by J Golf.  The tournament attracts 144 of the LPGA’s top players who will tee up at Ko Olina Golf Club to compete for a share of the $1.7 million purse.  

Last year, Ai Miyazato finished at 12-under 276 to take home the very first LPGA LOTTE Championship trophy and winner’s check of $255,000.  She will return to defend her title against an exciting field that includes other top-ranked players Stacy Lewis, Inbee Park, Yani Tseng, Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Shanshan Feng and more.  

In 2012, the LPGA signed a three-year agreement with LOTTE, a respected industrial conglomerate in Korea and Japan, as title sponsor. J Golf, the LPGA’s television rights holder in Korea, is the presenting sponsor. The tournament is a 72-hole stroke play event.  Last year's inaugural LPGA LOTTE Championship was televised on the Golf Channel and its affiliates reaching 610 million households in 79 countries.

The champion’s trophy resembles the super tall skyscraper, the LOTTE World Tower, currently under construction in Seoul, South Korea.  Upon completion in 2015, the Lotte World Tower will be the third tallest building in the world with 123 floors at 556 meters (1,824 feet) tall.  

The LPGA LOTTE Championship features an exciting week of professional ladies golf.  The qualifying tournament is scheduled on Sunday, April 14; Professional practice rounds and a golf clinic are scheduled on Monday, April 15; the Official Pro-Am will tee off on Tuesday, April 16; and the LPGA”s official tournament rounds run Wednesday through Saturday, April 17 - 20.

Admission to the event is free Sunday through Tuesday, April 14-16 and $10 per person daily on the official tournament rounds Wednesday through Saturday, April 17-20. Tickets are available for purchase at the Main gate during tournament week. Season Badges are $25 and good for admission throughout the week. Children age 16 and under admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult.   Free spectator parking is available.  The tournament provides free spectator shuttle service from the parking area to the admissions area located at Ko Olina Golf Club’s parking lot. No camcorders or cell phone videos at any time throughout tournament week. No cameras are allowed Wednesday - Saturday.

Friends of Hawaii Charities ( is the designated charity beneficiary of the LOTTE Championship presented by J Golf. As a Hawaii not-for-profit organization, Friends of Hawaii Charities has distributed more than $12 million in grants to over 350 Hawaii charities that serve the local women, children, elderly, and the impoverished.
