MICHELLE WIE & AYAKA KANEKO RECEIVE SPONSOR'S EXEMPTIONS FOR 3rd ANNUAL FIELDS OPEN IN HAWAII
Stephanie Kono and Cyd Okino To Play in Tournament's Monday Qualifying Event

KAPOLEI, HAWAII (January 28, 2008) - The Fields Open in Hawaii, on behalf of the Fields Corporation, announced Michelle Wie and Ayaka Kaneko have accepted sponsor's exemptions for the Fields Open in Hawaii, and amateurs Stephanie Kono and Cyd Okino will play in the tournament's Monday qualifying event.

Wie, a Punahou graduate who turned professional in 2005, will begin her 2008 season at the Fields Open in Hawaii. In 2002, Wie became the youngest player to qualify for an LPGA event, the Takefuji Classic and in 2003 she became the youngest person to win a USGA event for adults at the Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Amateur Kaneko, a 17-year-old Sacred Hearts Academy student from Honolulu, will join Wie for the 3rd annual tournament. Most recently, Kaneko advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2007 U.S Women's Amateur Public Links tournament and advanced to the final round of the U.S. Girls Jr. Championship, where she placed second overall. She also competed in the 2006 U.S. Women's Open.

Hawaii golfer Kono has confirmed she will be play in the Monday qualifying event, along with Okino. Kono was ranked second nationally by the American Junior Golf Association and earned First-Team AJGA All-America honors in 2007 after recording several top 10 finishes and winning the Arizona Silver Belle Championship in 2006. Okino, a freshman at Punahou, first qualified for the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship at age seven, and was the only player to shoot two under-par rounds to win the girls' 13-14 division at the 2007 tournament.
