KAPALUA RESORT NAMES MORGAN PRESSEL LPGA TOURING PROFESSIONAL

KAPALUA RESORT, MAUI, HI — Kapalua Resort announced today that LPGA player Morgan Pressel will be the resort's official LPGA Touring Professional. Pressel will represent the resort at LPGA tournaments and will be playing at the inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic scheduled for October 2008 on The Bay Course at Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawai‘i.

"I am extremely honored to be an ambassador for Kapalua Resort, one of the world's premier resorts," said Pressel. "I am proud of my association with one of the most recognizable and respected brands in the world of golf, and I can't wait to tee it up at The Bay Course in October 2008."

Winner of the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship at age 18, Pressel, is the youngest LPGA golfer to win a major tournament. At age 12, Pressel qualified for the 2001 U.S. Open, and was the youngest player ever to do so at the time. In 2007, Pressel has had seven Top 10 finishes on the LPGA Tour and is currently ranked sixth on the Rolex Women's World Golf ranking. Born in Tampa, Florida, Pressel comes from a family of athletes. Her mother was a tennis champion at the University of Michigan, and her uncle, Aaron Krickstein, was once the sixth-ranked professional men's tennis player in the world.

"We are very happy that Morgan will be Kapalua Resort's LPGA Touring Professional," said Gary Planos, Kapalua Resort's senior vice president for resort operations. "She is an outstanding young professional with a great future ahead of her – and a perfect match for the resort."

The Kapalua LPGA Classic, scheduled for October 2008, will have a $1.5 million purse. The Bay Course, among Hawaii's premier golf venues, is an Arnold Palmer/Francis Duane design, which plays 6,600 yards at the tips. Another course at Kapalua Resort—The Plantation Course—is already familiar to golf fans around the world as the venue for the PGA TOUR's winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship.
