The Beach Course was Waikoloa's first – opening back in 1981. Don't let the yardage of this layout fool you. Even though it plays to just under 6,600 yards the par is a very strict 70. The course was carved out of an ancient lava flow and winds it's way around historic petroglyph fields and fishing shelters.

As you would expect from Trent Jones Jr. the bunkering on the Beach Course is terrific and there are a number of strategically placed water features. The signature hole is without a doubt #12, a 502 yard, par 5 that is generally regarded as the most spectacular ocean front par 5 in Hawaii.
