Kapalua Resort

Kapalua is an incomparable resort destination located on Maui’s northwest coast.
Made up of several ahupua’a; pie shaped slices of terrain, this resort spans 22,000 glorious acres from the top of the verdant West Maui Mountains to six breath-taking bays that border the sea.

When you visit Kapalua you will be astounded by the natural beauty… and your access to it.  Here there are programs from mauka to makai, the mountains to the ocean, for you to experience Kapalua’s natural wonders and learn about island history.   From Zipline Tours to miles and miles of hiking trails to all the water sports you can imagine,,, all without ever leaving the resort.

And at the end of the day of Kapalua adventures retire to your five star accommodation… enjoy a spa treatment or a gourmet meal…the superior amenities and attentive personal service will surely impress you.

Kapalua’s logo, the butterfly encompassing a pineapple is one of the most famous and recognizable of any resort in the world.  And when it comes to golf it may be the best known of any resort in Hawaii, and why wouldn’t it be, given the fact that Kapalua hosts the PGA Tour’s first tournament of the year, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in January.

The Bay Course is Kapalua’s original and was opened backing 1975.  Designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane the Bay course is a real delight.  With its multiple teeing areas, generous fairways and friendly greens the course can be set up for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy.

The Plantation Course is really the signature of Kapalua Golf. The Bill Coore / Ben Crenshaw design is massive; sprawling over some 700 acres.  The features are also big… with super wide fairways, some as much as 80 yards and extremely large and undulating greens.  The dramatic elevation changes on the Plantation Course add to the challenge but more importantly allows for spectacular views of the blue Pacific and the neighboring islands from every part of the course.  The Plantation features some of the longest holes on the PGA Tour and one of its best finishes, the 663 yard par 5 18th .

Kapalua has now been the venue for a nationally televised PGA Tour tournament every year since 1982.  Golf’s best players love coming to this fabulous destination and so will you.
