When visiting the Four Seasons Resorts Lana’i you have two distinct hotel properties that showcase the island’s diverse landscapes. Perched in the interior highlands of the island, amidst massive Cooke pines and eucalyptus trees is the Lodge at Koele. This resort embodies Lanai’s plantation past. The Lodge provides an ideal spot for rest and relaxation but also a convenient jumping off point to experience Lanai’s wilder world-class sporting life. The hunting on Lanai is great and there are many off-road trails to explore. The nearby Lanai Pine Sporting Clays course will entice beginner and challenge experts.

The Experience at Koele was Lanai’s first resort course and the first U.S. course designed by Greg Norman in collaboration with Ted Robinson. The par 72 mountain layout takes full advantage of Lanai’s lush terrain. The Experience begins on a high plateau nearly 2,000 feet above sea level. At this elevation you’ll find a refreshingly cool Hawaiian climate as the course meanders through the misty hillsides and steep valleys on to high plateaus.

Traveling twenty minutes from the mountain to the sea you’ll find the oceanfront Manele Bay Hotel. Superbly situated on a cliff above Hulopoe Bay this hotel blends Hawaii’s many cultures with its lavish furnishings and artwork. The open-air courtyards found throughout the property are designed to capture the incredible ocean views.

The Challenge at Manele designed by Jack Nicklaus is one of his best architectural efforts. The course is literally carved out of the side of a hill, which means you have tremendous ocean views to distract you and the shot values are of extremely high quality.
